Anura 101

What you will find here are only some applications and tips for making the most of your Anura Amphibious Notebooks.  More importantly however, we hope that these will only help make your underwater experience much more rewarding and memorable.

If you would like to add to the list and share your own personal experiences and tips, please feel free to write to us.  We would love to hear from you.

Applications for Anura Amphibious Notebooks

1.    SCUBA Diving

Scientific diving & field research:          What are our notebooks were originally designed for!

Dive training / instruction:       For all dive trainees from basic open water to trainee instructors, now you can take down important notes during your classroom sessions and be able to refer to them while underwater.  Instructors can also easily communicate their instructions to the students while in the pool or underwater or even have a simple underwater lesson plan handy.

Underwater communication:   Unless you and your dive buddy are skilled in sign language, for most of us using hand signals to communicate while underwater can sometimes be a very frustrating affair.  All you have to do now is simply write down what you would like to say.

Dive log:          Frequently, many of us forget most of what we see during our dives when we finally get around to logging it.  With our notebooks, you can now do this during the dive or while you are doing your safety stop.  Better yet, you can write down distinguishing features of fishes or invertebrates you would like to identify and then look up your fish or invertebrate guide when you get back to the boat or resort.

Underwater photography:        Although digital underwater photography is becoming very common these days, many people still swear by film.  With such a recording medium however, the only way you are going to learn is by writing down you settings so that you can relate them to the actual pictures when it gets developed.

Underwater drawing/sketching:           If you are even more artistically inclined, you could record your dives by sketching or drawing on our notebooks.  Simply bring along some coloring or sketching pencils and let your creative juices take over.

Underwater games:  We played tic-tac-toe while doing our safety stop. - Anonymous
